2024 T4 Cricket Registration Form

23rd September 2024

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Your child has indicated an interest in playing cricket for TIS in Term 4. Please read all details carefully and complete the online registration and payment found on our website under Learner Opportunities – Cricket.  This needs to be completed by 3pm Thursday 17th October.

COACHES NEEDED
IMPORTANT:  All of our teams will need parents to share the managing of the team on Saturday mornings.  If this also extends to a weekday practice that would be fantastic as staff cannot guarantee time to do this.

Without the help of parents on Saturday morning to score or co-ordinate we will be unable to enter these teams.  A lot of learners will have their own gear, but a team bag will be provided for each team.  TIS has a policy of letting all cricketers have a go at batting and/or bowling if they are keen.  Parent/Coaches need to be aware of this.

Any parents able to help please let me know ASAP.  A roster system could work that you do one weekend each or share with another parent.

CODE OF CONDUCT
Players and parents of all TIS sports will be asked to agree to our 2024 sports code of conduct. Please read and discuss with your child and your extended family.  As proud parents and New Zealanders' we love our sports and are keen for our students to do the best they can.   Please sign and return the Code of Conduct.

The HBCA website contains information re cancellations and ground closures.  Coaches will try their best to let teams know - but please use the HBCA website for up-to-date information.

GAMES and COMPETITION
Games start Saturday 2nd November and finish on Saturday 14th December.
The draw will be up on the website by Thursday afternoon each week at the latest. Team lists including stand-downs and the draw will be placed in the hall window each Wednesday /Thursday. Any child who knows they will be away needs to let their coach/manager know in advance.  Any game stand-downs will rotate through the team, and players may be asked to cover another team if they are short.

All draws will also be run through the PlayHQ system, so games can also be scored through the PlayHQ system which provides results and statistics for all players.

Competition Grades for Term Four

  • Division 1 & 2 – T25 Smash, 9 a side, 25 overs per innings. 8:45am to 12pm

FEES
All fees of $20 are to be paid with your online registration. As sport is considered an extra-curricular activity, TIS has a ‘no pay, no play’ policy.

GEAR
Players will be issued with a school sports top for cricket. Listen for the intercom message to come and collect a top once teams have been entered.

Students will require: red school cap, white long cricket pants and a box for boys. Each team will have a gear bag that will be issued to the coach/managers.  Students in the 1st XI should have their own gear – this includes: bat, helmet, gloves and a thigh pad.

COACHING

ALL coaches of players 18 years and under are required to:
1. Register in the NZC Coaches database.
2. Complete the online 'Vulnerable Persons' modules.
3. Be police vetted through NZ Cricket (valid for 3 years).
4. Be in possession of a Coaching Qualification appropriate for the level at which they are coaching.

Coaching is a great way to express your passion for cricket. It can be extremely satisfying when you can positively influence the people you are engaged with.

If you would like to know more about the NZC coaching framework or are simply unsure where to start, go to http://www.nzc.nz/community/coaches-corner/become-a-coach and let your school/club know that you would like to help out.

We have coaching courses coming up and more details will follow soon.

PLAYER REGISTRATION

It is now mandatory for all players to be registered through New Zealand Cricket and this is done through the PlayHQ Management System.  Players who registered last year do not need to do this again.
